Goh Huat Seng Restaurant

Goh Huat Seng is a restaurant that serves a lot of delicious Teochew cuisine. They have a lot of Teowchew signature dishes and if you know mandarine you can see the menu in their notice board or else you can only have their limited menu from the staff. But most of the food lover will go for their traditional charcoal steamboat with Teochew fish soup.

The antique powerful steamboat

Fish ball, cuttle fish, squid, quail eggs......

My favourite seafood would be their fresh prawn and fish meat. After put them in the soup , the soup will become so much more delicious. I call it soup of heaven!

Home Cook Recipe: Curry Prawns

Most of the Malaysians like to eat curry including kids. Many of the Malaysian children like to have curry dish in their meal. This shows the difference between Malaysian Chinese and the Chinese in other countries. Curry is hard to make in traditional way. It needs so many ingredients, spices and herbs. We need to blend all the ingredients and tumis (fry slowly) the curry paste. In modern days, cooking curry is as easy as ABC...just buy a pack of curry paste in any Supermarket, and I prefer A1 Curry Paste.

First, hit the oil. Then put in onions and tomatoes. Stir fry slowly(Tumis).
Next, add in the A1 Curry Paste and water slowly.

When the curry is thick and starts boiling, put in the prawns. Cook for another 10 minutes.

A hot and spicy curry that makes your head smokes is ready to serve now. Yummy Yummy!

Home Cook Recipe: Asam Prawn

Fried Asam Prawn is a Nyonya Dish that can be cooked easily at home. It's not spicy at all and is suitable for adults and children. It's also a favourite food for my love one. Sure enough, it's also easy for you to prepare for your love one:)

Just buy some fresh medium prawn from market. Remember not to choose the fed prawns, they tasted very bad. Choose the shell which got some red or green colour. Marinate the prawns with two table spoons of asam paste for at least one hour. The longer you marinate it, the better it tasted.

Fried the prawns one by one using the medium fire.

The tip is to put in some Oyster Sauce.

Put in some sugar to make sure the asam paste's not too sour. Fry till fragrant.

The beautiful and delicious Nyonya Asam Prawn is now ready to serve. Yummm...can smell the aroma of asam from far:) It's best serve with white rice.

Berjaya Georgetown Hotel Sea Food Buffet

Talking about buffet many people will just think about Evegreen Laurel , City Bayview or Cititel. Many people will forget the Berjaya Georgetown Hotel, maybe cause of the size of the Cafe. The Coffee House is a bit small, it can just cater about 100 people.

But with the special promotion, now Berjaya Georgetown Hotel provides a very interesting buffet with a very good price. The most attractive thing is the famous ice-cream in the world ...... Yeah... it is Häagen-Dazs
We enjoyed the Friday Sea Food buffet dinner that night. It costs Rm 35 per pax but because of group booking we get 30% discount so we can enjoy a Sea Food buffet dinner with unlimited Häagen-Dazs ice-cream for just RM25. Envy leh? :)

The Nestum prawn although is large enough, but not so fresh. Still consider OK in Hotel Buffet, it is better compared to those I tried before in other Hotel buffet.

The cold crabs and the sweet sour crabs were fresh enough. It's just that the crabs were a bit small. However, I prefer eating crabs in house or seafood stall.

Thumbs up for this smoke raw salmon fish. Fresh and tasty, the delicious taste is just hard to describe. Try it yourself!

The 2nd popular food in this buffet, everyone like this deep fried golden squid.
I think you already know what is the most popular food in this buffet, yeah ... BINGO! It is the Häagen-Dazs ice-cream. Most people took more than 2 scoops. There's a waiter incharge to serve you the Häagen-Dazs ice-cream to prevent people from messing up the ice-cream, but you still can eat all you can. I took 6 scoops of the ice-cream, already worth the money I paid for this buffet;) I like Strawberry Cheese flavour the most. Haagen Dazs ice-cream...yeah...it makes me feel on top of the world!Who has never try out this buffet, it is highly recommended to try.
